Carolina Roller Derby is a non-profit organization that interacts with the community in positive ways. In addition to selecting a charity to support at each bout, the Rollergirls also attend community events to support other non-profits and spread the good news about derby!

The Carolina Rollergirls crashed the Boxcar Bar+Arcade for an evening of fun and fundraising! The games are exciting, the drinks tasty, and the outdoor patio welcoming.

Capital City Bike Fest
Downtown Raleigh hosts some amazing events, and the Ray Price Captial City BikeFest is no exception. From their web site: “The Ray Price Capital City Bikefest and Motorsports Expo is a free three day annual event that takes place in beautiful downtown Raleigh, the Raleigh Convention Center as well as the Ray Price Harley-Davidson and Triumph Dealership. Now in it’s 13th year, the event is family friendly and draws visitors from all over the country.” CRG was able to show off some derby play at the Fest and recruit volunteers for the next bout.
Visit with Girl Scouts
The Brownies, 2nd and 3rd graders aspiring to be Girl Scouts, were working on their Fair Play badge and thought of CRG! The Rollergirls visited the Brownies and talked with them about women in sports. Of course, there were also skating demos! CRG has a strong partnership with the Girls Scouts and are working to find ways to develop that relationship further.
Carolina Rollergirls hosted a Bar Crawl on September 16th, themed: “Old School Derby”! The Rollergirls gave out prizes all evening! They stopped at Carolina Ale House, XOCO, North Street Beer Station, Little City Brewing + Provisions, The Black Flower, The Stag’s Head, and wrapped up the evening at Clouds Brewing.
NC Courage Game
The North Carolina Courage is a professional women’s soccer team based right in Cary, NC. CRG couldn’t resist supporting a group of women athletes! CRG set up a table at the NC Courage versus Houston Dash to cheer on the home team.
The Rollergirls set aside this special day to reach out to sponsors and potential sponsors. It takes more than one day to build relationships, but CRG wanted to make a designated space in their calendars to celebrate the special people and businesses that make roller derby possible.
A Raleigh tradition started in 2002, Kirby Dirby is bigger than ever! The Carolina Rollergirls headed over to Dix Park to enjoy the music, food, boxcar derby, and fun!
Launching Pad Trampoline Park
The Launching Pad Trampoline Park Give Back Program offers a donation of all ticket sales to local organizations that bring their group in for a spirit day or night. CRG invited all the fans, friends & family to play with them in the trampoline pad, foam pit, dodge ball area, basketball court, arcade AND the state-of-the-art XD Motion Theater!
The Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shops are one stop shops for all of your soda pop and candy cravings. The Rollergirls partnered up with the out-of-this-world store for arcade games, soda pong and sampling! It was hard to get the kids of CRG (both big and small) to leave the store!
PDQ Car Wash & Spirit Night
The Carolina Rollergirls pulled out their scrub brushes and buckets to wash some cars at the Raleigh PDQ. Although Mother Nature brought some rain during the evening, CRG enjoyed the delicious sandwiches and drinks with some fans inside!
Magnolias & Ductape Bears that Care
CRG had a great time watching Southern Gothic Cabaret benefitting the Bears That Care School Supply Drive and celebrating women that rarely behave!
A gathering of artists, writers, musicians, activists, and the general public for the purpose of celebrating diversity and learning
how to effectively challenge the current climate of exclusivity.
Gildan Esprit de She Cary Run
Carolina Rollergirls were invited to attend Slayerfest in Wendell, NC this year, an annual fundraiser that supports FFAAFF (Firefighters Assisting Armed Forces Families). We with the Dragonslayer Bike Club about roller derby.
Carnival for Children
This year CRG assisted with the 17th annual Brooks Avenue Church of Christ Carnival for Children with Special Needs. We brought smiles and joy to the children while skating around and serving lunch to the children and their families.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Each year the Carolina Rollergirls participate in the Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade. We love to get decked out in our ’boutfits’, all in green!
United Skates Fundraiser
During a social media contest, CRG won a free night of fundraising at United Skates of America on Trawick Rd in Raleigh. The team decided to invite the Raleigh Junior Rollers in on the fun.
Super Fun Run
CRG got up early on a chilly Saturday morning to volunteer at the Super Fun Run held at the Wake Soccer Park. This super-hero themed event is attended by all ages.
CRG Meet and Greet
Carolina Rollergirls opened the warehouse for interested skaters and volunteers to meet the team, watch practice, and learn about all the exciting activities CRG is involved in throughout the year.
CRG loves to mingle in the community! While out and about during Raleigh’s First Friday, the Rollergirls made some new fans!
Raleigh Rescue Mission
CRG collected items from the needs list of the Raleigh Rescue Mission and took over seven bags full of goods for the homeless community.
The Carolina Roller Girls teamed up with Pieology Pizzeria for a fundraiser on January 3rd. The team collected 25% of orders and gave out two tickets to the opening game on February 11.
