The Cape Fear Roller Girls hosted the Carolina All-Stars in their first matchup as a WFTDA Apprentice league this past Saturday, November 13th. There were many highlights of the night, including a heart wrenching rendition of “Happy Birthday to You” sang by the Carolina bench to DVS’s father (henceforth known as DadVS), watching some halftime rugby, and pulling out a victory in front of One Tree Hill stars Sophia Bush and Austin Nichols.

Sophia Bush posted a shot of the action. You can see Carolina Bootleggers Hot Mess Express, Mallory Knocks, and CRG founder Celia Fate up front getting ready to represent with their homemade signage!

The final score of 214-61 doesn’t represent the tough fight Cape Fear put up against Carolina (ranked #23 in DNN’s most recent power rankings). Expect some great things from this aggressive new WFTDA league, as Carolina is certainly looking forward to a fierce new rival within our great state!
