Hey, remember home teams? It’s how the Carolina Rollergirls started out. Before there were teams to play within driving distance, we played against each other. There were the tough-as-nails Debutante Brawlers, the ever so sneaky Tai Chi-Tah ninja cats, and the Trauma Queens, our crazed nurses known more for rampage than recovery.
When roller derby blew up across the nation, home teams became a tradition. Skaters loved it. The home teams gave them families to train and bond with. Fans loved it. They could choose a local team to cheer on while still supporting the Carolina Rollergirls.
We tried some different things last year and the home teams were put away for 2009. But everyone agreed it was time to bring them back. And we are bringin’ them back old school, to the Skate Ranch, our wood-floored neighborhood skating rink.

Come on, get real close to flat-track roller derby. If it’s your first time seeing derby, you’ll get a taste of how we started out. If it’s your 100th time seeing us do our thing, then you’ll love to soak in a little nostalgia.
